Duncan Sheik is known as an Grammy and Tony award winner for his amazing songwriting, composing and producing abilities. In the past few months, he has been busy taking classic songs from the 80′s and covering them.  “It is nice to sing these songs that are written by other people…you’re inhabiting this other character that isn’t you, but in this case, it is a part of what made me who I am,” says Sheik. “The litmus test for me for choosing the songs was: Did I really, really care about it when I was 15 or 16?”

With songs by Dépêche Mode, Thompson Twins, New Order, The Cure, Tears for Fears, and others this album will cover all of the greats during the 80′s as well as some of the lesser known and forgotten. Duncan treats these classics with a laid-back feel, courtesy of his smooth voice and acoustic guitar. Mr. Sheik's voice emerged like a prince on a horseback out of a quasi-orchestral midst.

Duncan brings a new style to these classics.  It’s as if the 80′s was a time of peace and happiness even though we all know that the 80′s was about upbeat music like Michael Jackson, Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard and many others.  The new covers are great to listen to when you just want to relax.
